Menswear: Vivienne Westwood, Spring 2012

The Olympics have been the main source of inspiration for Vivienne Westwood for this collection, but we see the more athletic pieces alongside sophisticated three-piece suits (still casual though). The designer's husband is credited as co-creator of the collection. It is so charming to see them collaborate on this Spring/Summer project, and since it was a success, maybe it's just the first collaborative collection of many to come.

The J.Crew menswear collection for Spring/Summer 2012 embodies the traditional J.Crew look, with relaxed style for casual weekends, boating, and pleasant summer evening.
The style is casual and comfortable, with plaited shirts, cardigans and light comfy sweaters, canvas jeans and shorts, slim fit jeans and trousers.  Suits are not overly formals, but still flattering and fun.

Miuccia Prada's Ready-to-Wear Spring/Summer 2012 collection has been inspired by the 50s: the days of Elvis, shiny new diners, leather and cars. And when you combine all of it, you get the leather car and flames applique handbags and leather skirts. But to counterbalance this with some pure feminine touch, Prada adds flower-embellished pieces - coats, tops and accessories.

Yes, it's Haute Couture time and it really doesn't get much better than this.
I am so in love with this Christian Dior collection, presented during Paris fashion week. 

 I adore the classic feminine looks, old Hollywood glamor and delicate tulle.
I am also taken away by the makeup and styling of the models - so simple, but so wonderful! In the days of Nicky Minaj, it's so refreshing to see fashion remind us that 'less is more', and a gorgeous look doesn't necessarily need much more than a flawless complexion, eyeliner, mascara and a beautifully fitting dress.
