Valentino, Fall 2012

The creative force behind the Valentino label continues to impress and inspire, even though the master himself is no longer among us. I have always admired the sophisticated elegance and unforced femininity of the designs - delicate yet powerful images of nostalgia for the ladylike style

Makeup Inspiration: Bronzed and Frosted

Great makeup look from Sportmax' spring 2012 campaign with model Frida Gustavsson and photographer Glen Luchford.
Bronze-and-copper shimmering eyeshadow all over the upper eyelid, coal black eyeliner across the whole upper lash-line and more subtle shading at the lower corner of the eye. Sheer and light primer, conturing, bronzer and blush, completed with light translucent powder and subtle shimmery lip-balm or lipstick for a sun-kissed, but also frosted and cool look. So perfect!

Makeup Inspiration: Cotton Candy

How lovely are those cotton candy blue and pink for a fun costume look!
However, even if you go for a more subdued everyday look (which most of us normally do), these two colors are just meant to go together, don't you think.

Makeup Inspritaion: Purple and Green Jewel Tones

With New Year's eve just around the corner, I'm thinking more and more about beautiful jewel tones . . . purple, jade green, turquoise, silver and gold. In this line of thoughts, I absolutely love this bold and colorful makeup look, created by Yuka Washizu for a winter editorial, with model Karolina Cwiek.
Who ever said that purple and green don't go together?! Well, they lied! This combo has definitely inspired me to be a little bolder in the color combinations!

Makeup Inspiration: Emerald Eyes

While I'm still on the topic of emerald green, I thought I'd share with you this emerald green bold eye makeup look by Keiko Lynn (check out her tutorial, if you like this look).

Makeup Inspiration: Purple Plum Smokey Eye

Perfect contouring and bronzed cheek bones, completed by beautiful plum-purple eyeshadow in a smokey eye. Love this look so much (in fact, I'm considering to go with that for New Year's eve)!

Makeup Inspiration: Purple Eyeshadow

Ahh, delicate lavender purple eyeshadow . . . no eyeliner, no false eyelashes . . . nude lips and a touch of blush on the cheeks. It's just brilliant!

Makeup Inspiration: Orange Eyeliner

It's one of those looks that doesn't work for everyone. It's the sort of funky look, that requires extra bold and extra carefree.

Viola from Killer Colours (that's someone who has plenty of bold and carefee, plus great make-up skills) has shown us a similar look here, only using a hot pink eyeliner.
